No. This tool is meant to support Alabama residents who do not qualify for LSA legal aid, or would prefer to handle their legal issue on their own. Using the Legal Compass tool is not the same as completing an intake application.

LSA eligibility requirements are determined by our federal funder, Legal Services Corporation (LSC). LSC-funded programs help people who live in households with annual incomes at or below 125% of the federal poverty guidelines. Income guidelines usually change at the beginning each year. The information you provide in your intake application will determine if you qualify.

LSA intake staff will give you information about other available resources in Alabama, including the five volunteer lawyer programs that cover specific counties across the state. Visit legalservicesalabama.org/additional-resources to learn more about additional community resources operating near you.
